This handbook was made to show that forensic ballistics examination can be useful and reliable tool in scientific criminal investigation. It will give you an understanding of its principle, scope and limitations and a ready reference regarding forensic ballistics evidence. The book is organized into six chapters following the CHED MEMO # 5 series of 2018 and contains the Criminology Licensure Examination (CLE) Table of Specification (TOS), each covering a different topic in Forensic Ballistics. It is presented in logical sequence as follows; fundamentals of forensic ballistics- chapter 1, different types of firearms- chapter 2, ammunition types, parts and functions- chapter 3, individual and class characteristics, basis for firearms identification- chapter 4, laboratory equipment and tools used in the examination of ballistic exhibits- chapter 5 and nature and characteristics of low and high explosives- chapter 6.
