The study of lie detection techniques necessitates laboratory activities designed to understand the concept and apply the procedures in conducting polygraph examination. This Laboratory Manual will guide the instructor/teacher to develop and enhance the skills of students in conducting polygraph examination by applying the acquired knowledge from the discussion of relevant topics.
The topics in this manual include understanding the etymology of polygraph testing, the psychological and physiological basis, use of types of instruments, developing appropriate polygraph test questions, employment of test procedure and analysis of polygraph data. Students are expected to acquire not only the fundamental but the essential knowledge and skills in understanding and applying the procedure in lie detection.
